Thurémin — music for choir, strings & organ
“Thurémin signifies the depth of human emotion. The serene and the complex. The light and the dark. Written in a turbulent period of my life, Thurémin was a means to express myself. A way to get to the core of my emotional state of mind. I consciously chose to work with a non-existent language. The lyrics were derived from a constructed set of syllables, chosen for the sound and mood they conveyed throughout the piece. Thurémin was originally recorded with the Latvian Radio Choir in Latvia and has since been performed by a number of music ensembles, particularly in the United States.” - Maarten
